LAST RUNS SERVICE LAUNCHED BY PRECIENCE, EBN AND TOTAL PARTS PLUS
Free online service provides real-time access to electronic component end of life notices

BURTONSVILLE, Md., April 25, 2002 – Precience, Inc., a leading developer of electronic design automation (EDA) design-for-supply-chain solutions, today announced a new integrated online service for tracking component end of life notices and product change notices in collaboration with EBN, the news and analysis source for procurement and business managers in the electronics industry, and Total Parts Plus. The free service links the companies’ web sites and databases over the Internet to provide real-time access to the latest information.

“Providing End Of Life and Product Change Notices is a valuable service to EBN subscribers and viewers. By working with partners such as Precience and Total Parts Plus, we are demonstrating our commitment to providing the electronics industry with the information they need to navigate today’s fast paced market,” said Bruce Rayner, Editorial Director of EBN.

By raising awareness of this critical aspect of product design, we are encouraging companies to pro-actively manage component obsolescence and design it out of their products.” said Ahmed Khan, President and CEO of Precience.

Jeff Arnett, Executive Vice-President of Total Parts Plus explained that “Tracking EOL and PCN notices is the first step in managing component obsolescence. Accurately tracking the availability status of every component used in product design requires the constant attention of vigilant and knowledgeable personnel.

The Last Runs service is available in the InfoMart section of the EBN Online web site at http://www.ebnonline.com/pcn
