PRECIENCE ANNOUNCES NEW SEAMLESS INTEGRATION
FOR ORCAD AND PADS Users
New PCBNavigator Provides PADS2005 Integration with OrCAD
Capture Users and Enhances Design Flow by Defining Routing Constraints and
Manage ECOs Bi-Directionally
SILVER SPRING, MD., May 24, 2006 - Precience, Inc., a leading developer of
electronic design automation (EDA) design-for-supply-chain solutions, today announced a
new integration that delivers seamless board design flow for Mentor Graphics PADS2005 PCB
layout software and OrCAD Capture(CIS) 10.5. Working through the Mentor Graphics® OpenDoorSM
program and Cadence® Connections ProgramSM, PrecienceÔ enhanced its PCBNavigatorÒ integration
solution to enable Orcad Capture users to design for the PADS PowerPCB PCB layout tool, defining
routing constraints and managing engineering change orders (ECOs) bi-directionally. The new solution
speeds up the design flow significantly by delivering unsurpassed integration.
By working with Mentor OpenDoor Precience and Mentor demonstrating the commitment
to providing new integration path for adopting Mentor’s and Cadence EDA tools.
“Precience continues to demonstrate it’s commitment by providing new integration path
for best-in-class EDA tools design process. PCBNavigator 5.1 software is at the
cutting edge of integration technology and support other PCB platforms such as
Altium, and Zuken,” said Ahmed Khan, president and CEO of Precience.
“By providing a common constraint and data management database for OrCAD Capture
and PADS PowerPCB PCB users, constraints and design rules, such as those required
to direct Mentor’s BlazeRoute® routing technology, can be defined. The new integration
also provides these users the functionality needed to truly benefit from the power
of the PowerPCB PCB Series layout and OrCAD CIS tools.”
About PCBNavigator 5.1 Integration Solution
The PCBNavigator 5.1 solution provides complete bi-directional
integration between schematic capture tools and PowerPCB Series
layout tools. The design rule constraint spreadsheet editor enables
rule passing for nets, pins, components and boards. Design integrity
is maintained and synchronization with printed circuit board (PCB)
ECOs (reference design, rules, etc.) is automated. ECOs can be
easily read into Orcad Capture through automatic Swap file (.swp)
generation.
PCBNavigator 5.1 software is integrated at the database
level with schematic and target PCB systems using enhanced EDIF200.
The user can select design elements in the schematic editors and
appropriate footprints and other data are highlighted automatically in
the PCBNavigator spreadsheet (dynamic cross-probing link). The
solution automatically checks the PCB ECO file and reports items
that can be back annotated to the schematic design to keep design in synchronization.
Price and Availability
PCBNavigator 5.1 software is sold by Precience and through the company’s
worldwide reseller network. The product is priced at $3,499.00 for a single
floating seat and is available immediately. The product is available on
Windows 98/XP/NT/2000.
